If there is something I absolutely can’t resist, it is silk. Not only it looks and feels expensive, it kind of transforms me into someone refined and sophisticated. No wonder it is one of the most expensive materials. Let’s see if I can score a good deal.
After long hours of searching on Amazon, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Last Call and Saks off 5th, here is what I found.
LilySilk 100% Silk Blouse
$79.99 on Amazon, available in a variety of colors. I’ll wait and see if the price goes down a bit.
Theory Perfect Fitted Blouse
$144 at Bergdorf Goodman.
This would definitely be my first choice if it wasn’t for the price. And almost sold out – not much hope.
Trina Turk Malani Top
$86.40 at 6pm and Amazon, $75.99 at Rue La La.
It is 95% silk, but close enough. Amazing color with rhinestones, I will stalk it till the end!
Parker Ophelia Silk One-Shoulder Top
$74.99 at Saks OFF 5th.
Having mixed feelings about this one – quite extravagant and not for every occasion. Besides, everyone I asked did not like it. But what do they know, right?
Parker Women’s Piper Blouse
$46.62 at Walmart, $38.34 at Amazon.
The cheapest option so far, pretty cute, but too pink for my taste. Also may turn out a bit uncomfortable.
Theory Ruched Satin Fitted Sleeveless Top
$66 at Last Call and Bergdorf Goodman.
Great color, great fit – certainly worth considering.
Vince Two-Tone Top
$59.99 at Rue La La.
Only the front is made of silk, which explains the price. But the fit looks great, plus it will be very easy to match. Could be my next go-to piece.
And now is the time to announce the winner. Two winners in this case:
- Trina Turk Malani – stalking did pay off after all. Grabbed a coupon plus sign-up discount and couldn’t be happier about it.
- Vince Two-Tone – also caught a discount, and it is now my new go-to as expected.
From now on my price expectation for a silk sleeveless top will be under $60, for a blouse – probably under $75. Not too bad in my opinion.
P.S. Still stalking three from this list. It is going to be my silk year.
